I had never tried Chex cereal. In fact I didn’t want to try it. Chex invited us to breakfast, food photography tips, party decorating and best of all we learned how to make the famous Muddy Buddies. I had NO idea what Muddy Buddies were. But, my husband is a witness, since I learned how to make them that day, I’ve made them every week at home.
We had a food table, the cooking station, the decorations, and the photography. At the decoration table we learned how to add color to any table centerpiece, by using glitter and Mod Podge. Also how things like candy can make a table pop. My favorite tip was using mini martini glasses to serve snacks. It looked really chic and simple to do. The tips were given by Little Miss Party. They have so many ideas, make sure to check out their page for more tips and tricks.
After learning how to decorate and create a festive looking table, we had to learn a couple of food photography tips with Karilyn Sanders. I learned so much from her. Like for example, if it’s really dark use a piece of paper to reflect light.
Now my favorite part of the event was learning how to make these Muddy Buddies. I LOVEEEE THESE! They are so easy to make and you only need 5 ingredients: Chex cereal, chocolate chips, peanut butter (or almond or whichever you like), butter, and powdered sugar. Here the link to the exact recipe. I use half chocolate and half vanilla Chex, they are extra sweet but perfect for my sweet tooth. We also learned how to make a spicy Chex mix, but I’m more of a sweet tooth and nothing spicy. Did you know they have over 20+ recipes with Chex cereal?? It’s crazy, they have everything for every taste bud. Go to the Chex recipe page here.
I seriously buy more than 3 boxes of Chex every week so I can make Muddy Buddies and then eat the rest of the cereal, which is so yummy in itself! My favorite is the vanilla one! It’s a double duty cereal and my kids love it too. I want to thank the people from Chex for inviting me to such a special event. They also gave us a beautiful gift bag with an OXO wood mixing spoon engraved with our blog name, some Chex goodies and a Crate & Barrel gift card.
