As I scroll down my Facebook newsfeed, all I read is sadness that the summer is coming to an end. I feel quite differently. Maybe growing up in a Caribbean Island is to blame? I don’t know. I admit with 3 kids, the summer is by far the easiest season to do things, because all it takes is t-shirts and shorts and we’re out the door- as opposed to multiple layers of clothes in the fall and winter. On the other hand I have to deal with bug spray and more sunscreen.
Not to mention the heat!!! I grew up all my life with ridiculous heat, in a way I am over it. I like the cold/brisk air of fall winter. And to be honest, I just really enjoy the change of the seasons. How everything changes, it’s just amazing to me to be able to enjoy this side of Mother Nature.
As far as spending time at the beach and pool, I just can’t. The Jersey Shore, the Hamptons nor any North Carolina beach has the beautiful crystal clear, warm waters of the Caribbean! No disrespect to the people that love them. So for me is not enjoyable to go to the beach here. No shade, too hot, to crowded. Spoiled you say? Definitely. Tell me you wouldn’t if your beach looked like this?
So yes, we love Summer, but we are over the sticky heat, mosquito bitting time of the year. Lets end summer on a good note. Here are my top 10 fall activities:
1. the temperatures
2. pumpkin picking
3. apple cider
5. Thanksgiving
6. Halloween
7. Veterans Day
8. leggins!!!
9. sweat shirts
10. looking forward to the Holidays!!
Enjoy
